About ID

ID Wire Artworks is a project founded by creative duo - sculptor  Ivan Denčić and photographer/art theorist Draginjah Stanković.

Concept 

 ID is also a symbolic psychological reference to the art work of Ivan Denčić who use raw materials to create sculptures which are focused on instincts of life and death, on movements which are deprived of moral constraints. Id, the basic element of psychological structure of humans, is in some part similar to animal instincts, so the animals in combat state, in dominant positions and survival motions, are inspiration and headline in works of ID. Works are inspired by zombies and post-apocalyptic science fiction characters, based on junk consumerist picture of the world which is founded on principle of pleasure and on satisfaction of basic instincts.

Materials & Technique 

 Basic material used for making ID sculptures is wire. Wire is primary because of its characteristics and capacities. Wire is strong and persistent material, but it is flexible and mutable, which makes it capable to transform. Wire is also cold material, so the challenge to make creatures in motion is bigger. Materials which are also in process are pieces of trash (natural and industrial) which, used in that way, get another purpose. Technique is 100% pure handwork, which means that part of sculptures are not soldered or welded. Sculptures are mainly formed by twisting wire. 

Professional & Social engagement

Considering that professional engagement of ID is on its beginning, long-range goals are solo exhibitions, happenings and art studio suitable for creating the larger sculptures. Also, there is a tendency to work on environmental sculpture. As well, social engagement is very important in work of ID, so collaborations in many ways are included. Open minded projects, based on healthy and respectful cultural policy and on social and ecological engagement, are welcomed.
